Kiki Bertens chooses Peugeot

Peugeot Nederland has committed itself to sponsoring the Netherlands’ best tennis player, Kiki Bertens. Bertens is going to be part of the successful Peugeot NextGen Lions tennis programme that was launched in 2018. This collaboration will start during the WTA Finals.

Support for new generation tennis talent

Rising tennis talent deserves support. The step towards professional tennis is a tough one, in which obstacles and uncertainties have to be overcome. The Peugeot Nederland NextGen Lions tennis programme supports this new generation of tennis talent. Bertens, who is 27, is joining Peugeot to inspire and motivate up-and-coming talent to take the next step in their development. Every young tennis player dreams of being as successful as she is. She will also be bringing a great deal of experience and a winner’s mentality to this programme. In addition to the experienced Robin Haase (32), the current NextGenLions Tallon Griekspoor (23), Botic van de Zandschulp (24), Tim van Rijthoven (22) and Ryan Nijboer (20) will also be able to benefit from the programme.

Bertens: ‘Peugeot’s plan really appeals to me. I know just how difficult it is to get to the top, and how much it takes. When I was younger I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to get this far. By never giving up and working incredibly hard each and every day, I managed to make my dream come true. I hope I can be a source of inspiration to young people so that they can also get into tennis. That’s why I’m delighted to have Peugeot as a partner. I love the fact that through the NextGen Lions I can contribute towards developing new Dutch tennis talent.'
