Following the success of previous collaborations such as 'Sign for an equal game' and 'FootbALL', this new campaign calls for action with an impressive lineup of global stars, including Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martínez, Ana Marković, Ruud Gullit, Gareth Bale, Thierry Henry, Didier Deschamps, and Rio Ferdinand.
Initiative by UEFA and European Resuscitation Council
The initiative by UEFA and the European Resuscitation Council focuses on the importance of resuscitation. With cardiac arrest being the third leading cause of death in Europe, the campaign emphasizes the importance of swift action. Every minute counts, as the survival rate decreases by 10% per minute.
Interactive Resuscitation Course
The campaign, which is live since this week, invites football fans to participate in an interactive resuscitation course on the platform get-trained.com. In less than four minutes, football fans learn the essential skills of resuscitation, accessible in over 40 different languages.
Unfortunately, we often hear about cardiac arrests in stadiums or on the football field. If this campaign can save even just one extra life, we consider it a success.
Supported by football icons
The involvement of football icons makes the training on get-trained.com unique. In a virtual locker room, Ruud Gullit invites football fans to participate in the course alongside the stars. Interactive questions guide users through the module, with players' responses to given answers. Later this spring, UEFA will also launch a condensed version of the training on Instagram.
Climax around UEFA EURO 2024
With EURO 2024 on the horizon, the campaign will gain even more visibility. TV commercials will be aired around matches and shown in and around stadiums. Activities will take place in all fan zones of the ten host cities. Additionally, the campaign will now be visible on all UEFA channels.
