Holland is bitten by the curling bug

The Dutch open natural-ice curling championships (Open NK Curling op Natuurijs ) were organised in March 2018 by Triple Double Sports Marketing on behalf of the Dutch Curling Association.

The fact that the Winter Olympics, the hype surrounding the Curling Quiz with Dutch singer Frans Bauer, the success of the Dutch Men’s Curling Team and mother nature all worked together, was for the Curling Bond and Triple Double good reason to show the people of the Netherlands just how much fun curling is. Within 11 hours of it opening for registration, the event was sold out and a huge waiting list had developed.

The rest of the Netherlands soon became familiar with the sport through massive media attention. With almost 19 million impressions and a media value of €620,619, the event became a real media hype. The first Dutch open natural-ice curling championships was made possible with the support of Dutch curling sponsors Asito and Team Rockstars IT, and event sponsor Chocomel.
